Wow, it was such an emotional day.
Ansley woke up early (which for those who don't know...this is NOT our morning child, she prefers to sleep as late as she can)! She was so ready for kindergarten! Ashlynn on the other hand could have cared less, she was more concerned about breakfast and how long it would be before lunch at school! :)
Traffic wasn't bad, I was surprised and we were early to their classes. Ashlynn walked right into hers like she owned it. We had to call her back for hugs and kisses, but she has several friends in her class (God bless that teacher). Then it was Ansley's turn. She was a little clingy and not really sure about it once she saw all the other kids. But, there was a friend of hers in her class so that made it better. After lots of hugs and kisses it was time...TIME for us to turn and WALK OUT of the class and out of the school. Umm, yeah I wasn't too keen on that part. I was proud of myself, I totally didn't cry in front of either of them, only got teary eyed walking out of the school, and was a COMPLETE MESS by the time I got in the van. I thought the hard part was going to be leaving the class, not driving out of the parking lot. Are you kidding me, why didn't I realize that actually leaving the school was going to be such an issue! I did ask B if we had to leave, he thought the school might mind us being out the parking lot all day. Lol...not to mention he had figured out since it was only 8:20, he still had lots of time to go get him breakfast before having to be at work.
I do have a peace about their teachers, the school, etc. So I know it is going to be a great year...plus, I'm not dropping them off everyday, that's B's responsibility...I have never loved the fact that he has to be at work at 9 more than I do at this point! :)
I forgot to pack the cable to download the pictures from the camera...so those will follow at some point this weekend. Sorry...I was just focused on not crying this morning and on NOT forgetting the camera.
I do need to give a shout out to my sister-in-law, Laurie, she called and talked/ cried with me on the way to work. It was nice that she helped me through it. Love ya girl!
Also, thank you so much to all our friends who called, texted, emailed, or did all of the above to check on us this morning! We are very blessed...
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ramblings...
I am going to apologize in advance for this because it is going to be a bunch of ramblings...
As I sit here tonight so much is on my mind...
First, we are REALLY, REALLY blessed. We have two healthy kids, I have a wonderful/ supportive husband, the BEST family and friends we could ever ask for, and jobs that we both absolutely LOVE. I am truly humbled by how good God has been to us.
Second, my heart hurts for a number of families we are close to who have either lost loved ones, are very sick, have family who are very sick, or who are just going through some really tough times. I am praying for each and everyone of them. I am thankful God carries us through these difficult times.
Third, I can't believe tomorrow is THE DAY. Yes, I am emotional already, Ansley cried when she said good bye to her pre-k teachers this afternoon (it goes without saying that I was crying!!!). I am excited about the girls starting school and all the fun that will bring, but sad that they are growing up so fast. I know I have said it before, but they should still be babies...they will ALWAYS be our babies though. I am so thankful that their teachers are christians, they are very strong women of faith, and they have been praying for their classrooms and the children who will be in their classes. God is so good...what a blessing that these two women who will have such an impact on our girls lives and our lives are such faithful christians.
Fourth, and totally random...I have found several knew blogs about organization that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. They have each inspired me, and I will be adding to our "binder" collection. I know Brian is thrilled, lol. These sites are helping me with our "Household Binder"...and yes, I will be making Brian the mini version (mainly the planner portions with the calendars and the girls schedules). He shouldn't have the excuse that I didn't tell him what our plans were! This binder has all kinds of great tools for keeping your household organized and planned. There are things from schedules, to budgets, meal plans, etc. I figured it would be nice to have everything in one place. I LOVE my coupon binder and have used it like crazy. I think it has even inspired a few of my friends to make their own. I think this will be a good addition to that...
I know most of you are probably rolling your eyes and thinking are you kidding me, and that's ok too. But, our lives are so busy and hectic right now I think this is going to be awesome for us. We are constantly on the go and I usually have 10 lists going for all different kind of things...now they will be all in one place! YAY! So I am going to try this for the next 3 months, and see how it goes. I will post pictures after I get them made this weekend...
Fifth, thank goodness that college football and cooler weather are right around the corner! Can I get an AMEN??? In case you were wondering...the Dawgs kick off in 23 days! GOOOOOOO DAWGS!!! SIC 'EM!!!!!! Yes, the Harvey's are ready with their game day attire...:) See I told you this was going to be random thoughs and ramblings...:)
Finally, I will close with a few verses and quotes that I love:

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future
Romans 8:31
What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? One of my all time favorites!!!!
James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Back tomorrow with pictures of the first day of school!
Much love to you all!

Pictures...
This blog is mainly going to be pictures of things that we have done this summer. I FINALLY had a chance to upload the 2000+ pictures from my camera to the computer!
But before we get to the pictures...PRAISE THE LORD, open house went well. No tears, AND both girls got excellent teachers! Yay...I have prayed so hard for them to get good teachers. We are so blessed with the ones that Ansley and Ashlynn have. Hopefully, it is an indication of how this school year is going to go!
Ok on with the pictures...
Beach with some great friends...
Then we had swim lessons...which was fun, but also made for some really long days...not to mention it was HOT. Not sure we will do them again for as long as we did this year!
Ashlynn's 4th Birthday was next...it was A LOT of fun...
Fourth of July was spent in Sevierville, TN. It was fun, but very tiring...I think the girls were the most excited about seeing Santa at the Christmas shop. They thought it was great to get to see him during the middle of the summer. Just proves that he is always watching...lol.
Last in this post :) is Stone Mountain. We had a blast, well almost all of us had a blast. Ashlynn liked it until the fireworks started and then she didn't want anything else to do with it. We asked her if she would go back...she said yes, to dance and play on the lawn, but we would have to leave before that "show" started! Gotta love that kid...lol.

August already...
It's August already...and what a busy month it has already been! We had friends come to stay with us, recently. That was A LOT of fun. We shopped, watched movies, cooked, etc. I love to shop, but I think I am over it with all the back to school shopping for supplies, shoes, clothes, etc. we have done...what a chore making sure that everything on the lists were bought. I am proud, I spent way less on it than I budgeted...gotta love couponing!
Ansley lost her first tooth this past week. She was so excited...she thought the tooth fairy was going to bring her $60. Not really sure where she came up with that one, but thankfully she was excited with the $5 that she got! Now, I know a lot of you just went $5 for a TOOTH??? Well, the tooth fairy left a nice little note explaining that the first tooth always gets $5 because it is a special occasion, but after that it will only be $1!!:) That tooth fairy sure is smart! :) LOL...
Tomorrow, is another big day in our house. We have Open House at the girls school at 9:00 am. They are SOOOO excited to get to go meet their teachers and see who is in their class. Asnley has asked everyday if it is time to go to kindergarten. Brian usually answers, nope Mommy isn't crying yet. Ha ha, yes I am hoping that I don't cry tomorrow, and don't think I will, at least that is what I keep telling myself...at least we will take them and drop them back off at Little Angels before going to work. Please say a prayer that they get really amazing teachers.
Then Friday is the day I have dreaded since I gave birth to Ansley in 2005...the first day of school. This is probably one of the few times that I am wishing Friday WOULD NOT hurry up and get here. I am so not ready to send both of my babies to school. I suggest you buy stock in Kleenex and I already have planned no mascara or eye make up on Friday! :) Seriously, though please pray for all of us, all the teachers and administrators in the schools, as well as all the students...I know first hand how hectic working in a school system can be. The plus side to them going to school...we get a raise we will be paying less for two weeks of after school care than we are for 1 week of daycare right now...so that is a HUGE plus! :)
I am attaching a picture of the girls bookbags...yes they are monogrammed, and matching they picked them out (honestly I was shocked Ashlynn didn't get the purple one, but hey whatever keeps them from fighting). And they have the cutest shirts to wear on the first day of school...thanks to Aunt Sharon for that. She got them through Marti's Stitchery...check her page out on FB! I am attaching pictures of the shirts too.

Oh and I almost forgot...this past weekend I had one of my best EVER savings at Publix. My bill before coupons was $145.63, and after coupons it was $73.48. I was really excited about that...got tons of stuff for the girls to take in their lunches, and several things for our upcoming trip to the beach...I LOVE couponing...plus I was under the grocery budget for the week too!
Ok, so I think I have rambled enough for one day with the Happenings with the Harvey's, but I will be back this week with pictures from the first day of school.
Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Yikes, what a month...
Sorry, it has been so long since I posted anything. Things are incredibly busy in the Harvey household.
The girls are both starting school this year: Ansley in kindergarten, and Ashlynn in pre-k. They start on August 12th. Neither one of them can wait until that day gets here. I think Brian and I would like to press pause and keep them little for a while longer! My advice would be go ahead and buy stock in Kleenex now, because I am sure I will be going through them that day!!!
We have been getting school supplies, clothes, etc. bought and ready for the first day. I think that is adding to the excitement because we haven't ever had to do that before!
I have so much more to blog about but, I don't have time at the moment. I promise to get another blog up...one of which is going to be about my tremendous savings this weekend at Kroger and CVS! So proud...
But I want to leave you with a few inspirational quotes that I have seen lately, that I have been reflecting on:
What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday!
Along those same lines..."If the only friends you had today were the ones you prayed for yesterday, how lonely would you be right now".
And finally, "Enjoy this moment, for this moment is your life"
All of these are very powerful, and remind to be thankful for the things we have (including the people).
Hope everyone has a great day!

Wow, we are already well into June...
I can't believe it is already June! Can someone please tell me where May went? Or for that matter it seems like it was JUST New Year's Day. May was a GREAT month. We celebrated all kinds of big events...Mother's Day, Our 10 year anniversary, my Granny's 85th birthday, and we even went to the beach for a few days. I really do wish we could be beach bums, and it could totally happen except for the fact that we like to have a roof over our head, electricity, food, etc. So I guess it is best that we continue to go to work everyday.
June is going to be a very busy month for us! We start swim lessons tonight for 2 weeks, have a family reunion, Father's Day, and then Ashlynn turns 4. I can't believe we will celebrate our baby's 4th birthday at the end of the month. Once again can someone please tell me where the time has gone??? She should still be a little baby...not an almost 4 year old.
Hope things are good for everyone else...I will try to get some pictures uploaded tonight. Sorry it has been so long since I posted any Happenings with the Harvey's!

10 years...
I can't believe that today is our 10 year anniversary! It doesn't seem like 10 years, it seems like just yesterday...Brian no comment on that! :) Lol.
I remember waking up so nervous and excited...it was a beautiful morning, which later turned into a down pour, and then back to a beautiful night.
I was surrounded by close friends and family all day. What a blast it was...from hair appointments, to the "tail gate party" in the church parking lot, to it pouring down rain about 30 minutes before pictures...at that point I kind of freaked out. The ceremony was wonderful, although it seems like such a blur, and the reception was so much fun. We didn't want to leave we danced until the LAST possible moment.
Brian and I are so blessed...not only to have found the love we have, but to have 2 amazing girls, and the support and love from so many friends (especially the life long ones), family memebers, co-workers, etc.
I look forward to many, many, many more!

My first blog!
Well I have finally decided to start blogging. I have been thinking about it awhile now, and decided that I should really take the plunge! I follow several blogs (some from friends, some for sales and coupons, etc), and decided it was past time for me to start blogging.
Let me first start by saying how incredibly blessed the Harvey's are! God has been so good to us over the past year (and what a year it was), and while we have had many struggles and tests, He has blessed us so much! God is good ALL the TIME! Looking back on the past year, I am in awe of how He has worked in our lives. We are much stronger as a family, our faith is much stronger, and we have such a great group of true friends and family that we know stand beside us through thick and thin!
We just got home from an amazing trip at Disney World. It was so much fun, and Ansley asks why we can't just live at the castle?? I agree, why can't we?? It was nice to be able to make memories as a family and spend time away from the real world for several days! Ashlynn loved all the fast rides she was tall enough to ride (Test Track, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, etc.) and as soon as the ride stopped she was asking could we do it again. There were no crowds, so we were able to ride some of the rides back to back. It was fun, but after 3 times in a row on Test Track and Big Thunder Mountain, I was ready to walk around for a little while!
I am so excited about a new opportunity God has provided for us. About 4 months ago, I started couponing and trying to cut the amount of our monthly grocery bill (isn't it insane what things cost right now?)! I can honestly say that this has been a challenge, but I never realized how just a little research and time could add up to almost a 60-70% savings each month on groceries and household items. Several people have been asking me to "teach" them how I use coupons. I always just laughed it off and didn't take it very serious.
Well about 7 months ago (during what seemed at the time, like one of the worst times in our lives..it has quickly become a blessing in disguise), I felt like God was really laying on my heart that He was going to use me in a ministry, of course He didn't give me what ministry or how I would be involved. But, He definitely placed this desire on my heart. I have spent a lot of time praying and asking God for direction because frankly I don't want it if it isn't what He has planned for me.
Well this past Sunday, my best friend, Sharon, and I went to CVS. She wanted to see the whole coupon thing in action. While I was checking out, my mom and one of her dear friends came in. I started showing them all the stuff I got and how little the cost was, and my mom's friend was like you really need to teach this to people. At that moment, it was like God put it in flashing lights (or as another dear friend says "He hit me upside the head with a ton of bricks"). I had this peace, and knew that this was what God had in mind for me at this time. I will be "teaching" my first couponing class on April 30th. I am really excited about this opportunity and can't wait to share my passion for couponing along with my passion for Christ with others. The response so far has been amazing, and I have a feeling where this is going to be one of those things were I get more blessings out of it than those in the class!
I will be using this blog not only as a way of keeping people up to date with the Happenings at the Harvey household, but I will also be sharing coupon tips, deals, and my shopping trips and savings.
I look forward to many more blog posts!
